About

We built this business twice.

The first version put local businesses on TikTok. The second one puts them in TikTok search results. The distance between those two sentences is most of what we have learned since 2023.

Where this started

In 2023 we started working with local businesses on TikTok, back when almost nobody in this category was doing it on purpose.

The observation was simple and it was correct. Open the app, search a business by name or by neighborhood, and in most cities you found nothing. Their competitors had nothing either. The gap was real and it was wide open.

So we went at the hardest part first, which is publishing. A local business cannot realistically put content out at the volume this app rewards, and asking the owner to try is how most of these programs quietly die.

We built an automation system to take that off them. Content went out through a QR-based workflow with its titling, tagging and location signals prepared in advance — published by the business's own customers and staff from their own accounts, rather than piling up on a single one. Scheduling, campaign setup and tracking ran through the same place.

It worked, and we ran it with real businesses in real markets — on the operating side rather than the advisory side.

What changed the business

The first version of this business treated the problem as absence. A business was not there, so we made sure it was there — at volume, on schedule, without the owner having to run it.

That is a solvable problem, and we solved it. Solving it did not do what we expected.

A business can have plenty of content on TikTok and still not come up when someone searches for what it sells. Being present and being found are two different outcomes. Only one of them is worth paying for — and this is the part that took us longest to understand — only one of them can be checked.

That is why this company exists in its current form. We stopped selling presence and started selling position, because position is the only version of this that a business owner can verify without taking our word for it.

What the earlier years taught us

A report nobody can check is not a report.

Every ranking claim we make carries the exact search term and the date it was checked, so you can run it on your own phone and find out whether we are right. That constraint decides what we are willing to put in a report at all.

Position is held, not launched.

Businesses that treated this as a one-time project got a one-time result. Search position is something you either keep holding or lose to whoever is still showing up. We stopped structuring the work as a campaign because of it.

Nothing works without something real from your side.

The businesses that got the most out of this were the ones that could hand over something from their actual operation. So we ask for something small and specific rather than something large and vague, because the large vague version never gets done and both sides end up disappointed.

Start by checking your market.

Tell us where you operate and what kind of business you run. We look up whether the slot is open, and either way you get a read on what is ranking in your market right now.
